Bruce Causby

A cricket coaching legend, the father of South Australia first ccricketer Barry, Bruce "Snow" Causby was a great footballer for South in the 1930s. His father Bill had also played in premierships in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

He played in a number of Reserves flags towards the end of the golden era that was the twenties, before emerging as a senior talent with the likes of Eddier Mahoney, Ron May and Howard Abbott.

Causby was recruited by Norwood in in the early 1930s before his opportunity at league level was sadly cut short by the Second World War. He soon pursued his cricket, but he returned to South to be a coach at the cricket club for a number of years.
