Tom Doherty
As with Peter Swift and Sid Coles, Tom Doherty was one of the first homegrown footballkers at South to journey to the city and try their hand at league footy.
Records show that Doherty was a sensational player in the GFA during the 1894 sesaon, capping off a premiership for South with outstanding performances for the Association.
In 1895 he was recruited by South Adelaide, where a lot of Gawler Souths had made their mark.
