THE SGFC WEBSITE HALL OF FAME

Following the publication of the club's history book for the Centenary in 1989 and the development of this website for the Heritage Week celebrations in 2005 - commemorating fifty years since the great A Grade premiership of 1955 - the SGFC Management along with the Centenary Committee will nominate and ratify a number of extraordinary footballers for the first induction into the official SGFC Hall of Fame most likely over the next few years.

Meanwhile, this website Hall of Fame has been devised for the interim and is organised into three sections with proposed candidates as compiled by the Webmaster. Of course, the Outside Accolades and League Footballers lists are governed by external recognitions, but it is hoped that the most important honour of all for a player will be to be named in the Hall of Fame as a Club Legend, which will become as great an honour as Life Membership or an Annual Club Trophy.

• Club Legends - outstanding footballers who have contributed to the life and history of the SGFC
• Outside Accolades - players who have been honoured with recognition above and beyond the club
• League Footballers - the pride of the SGFC, those home-grown footballers who have gone on to play first class footy, along with Expatriate league footballers who honoured South after playing at a higher level.
